A Tennessee appeals court has thrown out the aggravated assault conviction of a man who shot another father in the head during a heated argument outside a Subway restaurant.
Kristopher Pappas, who was serving a five-year sentence for the March 2023 shooting in Fayette County, will now face a new trial. The decision comes after appellate judges discovered a technical error in how the jury was instructed, ruling that the conviction was legally invalid.
