More Hot Chicken on the Germantown Horizon

Germantown chicken fans get excited; the neighborhood is officially in the Hattie B’s Hot Chicken business. The popular restaurant chain has received township approval to build a brand new storefront in the area reports the Memphis Business Journal.

Hattie B’s will be opening as part of the Germantown Village Square at the intersection of Poplar Avenue and Germantown Road. The ground-up building will span around 3,000 square feet and allow Hattie B’s to experiment with their model a little-something it’s never had the opportunity to do before. Chief development officer David Oster explains: “It allows us to lay out our interior, not only customer-facing spaces but our back of house kitchen setup, to optimize for operations. It’s a great opportunity to be able to design something from scratch with Hattie B’s in mind. It’s going to provide us some awesome efficiencies, as well as a different look for our customers.”

While the restaurant’s impending arrival is certainly cause for enthusiasm among locals, stomachs will have to rumble for a little bit longer before residents can sate their hunger for Hattie B’s fare. The chain is on track for a summer of 2027 opening…
