Real estate fraud is on the rise in Tennessee, and lawmakers are weighing options aimed at stopping it.
That includes an optional pilot program that would require an ID before filing real estate documents by mail and in person.
One of the cases was a complex fraud scheme to try to steal Graceland. Federal officials say Lisa Findley created a scheme falsely claiming Lisa Marie Presley put the famous estate up as collateral for a loan she didn’t repay before her death in 2023.
