MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A Tennessee man who helped an ex-Memphis police officer cover up a murder four years ago has been sentenced to prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in West Tennessee announced Thursday.
Joshua Rogers, 33, received Wednesday a sentence of four years and eight months in prison for his role in the death of Robert Lee Howard in January 2021.
Prosecutors had previously said that Patric Ferguson killed his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, identified as Howard. Ferguson told his supervisor that he needed to go home to get his cell phone but instead went to his ex-girlfriend’s home, where Howard was staying, and forced the man into the back of his squad car.
