Man critically hurt in Frayser shootout; at least 90 casings found

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police found at least 90 shell casings at a scene after a man was critically injured in a shootout in Frayser Thursday night.

Officers say it started when they responded to multiple shooting calls in the 3100 block of Madewell Street around 9:30 p.m.

When they arrived, police say a complainant, a friend of the male victim, said the victim called him and told him he had been shot outside of his home.

The man was taken to Regional One. Before he was taken to the hospital, he confirmed with investigators that he did not know what happened and that he remembers being outside of his residence when he was hit by gunfire…
