MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An inmate booked in the Shelby County Jail died on Sunday, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).
On Dec. 21, deputies said just before 7 p.m., an inmate at 201 Poplar was found unresponsive in his cell.
SCSO said that Corrections deputies, a nurse began lifesaving measures until the Memphis Fire Department arrived.
According to SCSO, Marcel Hutton, 35, was pronounced dead at 7:22 p.m. by the fire department.
