Man drives to hospital after being grazed in I-240 shooting: MPD

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man drove himself to the hospital after being grazed during an Interstate 240 shooting Tuesday afternoon, according to Memphis Police.

Police said at 2:39 p.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault after a shot was fired on Interstate 240 and Getwell Road. Officers said they then responded to a shots-fired call in the area of I-240 east and Mt. Moriah Rd, and moments later, a victim called police saying he was driving to St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett after being grazed during the shooting.

The victim told police around 2:10 p.m. that he was in an accident in the area of I-240 east and Getwell Road with an SUV with two males inside.

According to the victim, the driver, wearing a green vest, fired four or five shots at him. Police said the victim’s knuckles were grazed during the incident.The victim described the suspect as between the ages of 20-25, has black hair, and wearing a green vest.
