MILLINGTON, Tenn. — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has officially completed its purchase of the historic motorsports facility in Millington, formerly known as Memphis International Raceway and Memphis Motorsports Park, closing on the property Tuesday.
IHRA confirmed the track’s return with two major events on its 2026 calendar: the IHRA World Finals from Oct. 22–24, 2026, and an IHRA Sportsman Series stop on Oct. 15–18, 2026.
It originally opened in the late 1980s, the facility has hosted major drag racing events and national touring series, and previously held IHRA-sanctioned races. IHRA leaders say the acquisition is a “full-circle” moment that reconnects the track’s history with a new plan for the future.
