Memphis police are on the lookout for suspects involved in a Christmas Eve shoplifting incident at a business located at 3841 Austin Peay Highway. According to the Memphis Police Department, the theft took place around 1:59 p.m., where two suspects, described as a Black female and male, were seen entering the business wearing predominantly black clothing, and later they filled a large trash bag with Nike Tech apparel.
The suspects, who did not attempt to pay for the merchandise valued at approximately $3,600, fled the scene in a gray-and-silver 2006 Saturn Vue with a TN license plate BSY3742, which reportedly is registered to a silver 2007 Volvo, it deserves noting that a third accomplice was described as a female with blonde hair, she was observed wearing a blue shirt, assumedly behind the wheel during the getaway. In an effort to apprehend the individuals, the Memphis Police have circulated a call to action for anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH (2274).
Security footage revealed the meticulous coordination between the shoplifters: the male suspect opened the trash bag and methodically packed several items, with his accomplice standing guard.
