MEMPHIS, Tenn. — 2025 will go down as a historic year for public safety in Memphis. Last week, Mayor Paul Young said “serious crimes” were at a 25-year low.
The mayor said that since he took office in January 2024, his public safety strategy has delivered results.
Young said in his letter that, compared to 2023, overall crime in Memphis is down 41%. Violent crime is down 30%. Murders are down 47%. Aggravated assaults are down 24%…
