Millington is looking for ideas to save city’s oldest building

MILLINGTON, Tenn. — The City of Millington has launched a campaign to save its oldest building and is asking residents for their input.

City Manager Frankie Dakin said they hope to preserve the historic Harrold Building, established in 1911, and once home to the Harrold Store and later the Old Timers Restaurant.

Dakin said the “Save the Harrold” campaign was initiated by young citizens who voiced their concerns about the structure’s future in 2024.

“For the last seven or eight years, it has just sat vacant and started to deteriorate.
