MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A convicted felon with a suspended driver’s license who led a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper on a chase on New Year’s Eve with a teenager in the vehicle, appeared in court Friday morning.
The teen’s mother, LaQuanta Ellis, who is also Bailey’s girlfriend, was in court in support of the man accused of taking her son on a dangerous drive.
“I’m here for him. I’m riding with him, I am here,” said Ellis.

Reginald Bailey, 40, has been charged with registration law, evading arrest during vehicle pursuit, reckless driving, evading arrest during foot pursuit, light law, obedience to any required traffic control, drivers to exercise due care, reckless endangerment, speeding, financial responsibility law, driving while license suspended, child abuse, and theft of property.
