Memphis Safe Task Force claims nearly 4,700 arrests, 132 children found in 2025

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Safe Task Force was credited by officials Friday with arresting 4,698 violent fugitives and finding 132 missing children since it was deployed Sept. 29.

Twenty-four of those arrests were for homicide, and 76 were sex offenses, the U.S. Marshals said in a news release issued Friday, just after the new year began.

While it has been difficult to independently trace exactly which arrests have been made as a result of the federal law enforcement surge, the marshals listed 10 notable arrests they credited to task force members.

They include the arrest of Arsenio Davis, who was accused of shooting his mother to death and “partially dismembering” a young relative at a Nutbush area home on Oct. 22.

Police said Davis shot and killed his mother, Betty Pratt, inside the home they shared on Helsley Road, and fled the scene. Hours later, he returned and killed his nephew…
