MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Wednesday, Jan. 7 marks three years since the traffic stop and subsequent beating that killed Tyre Nichols and forever changed his family’s life.
The Memphis community is coming together to honor Nichols and is also continuing to advocate for justice.

It was Jan. 7, 2023 when Nichols was tragically beaten and was pronounced dead three days later, following an encounter with five Memphis Police officers.
