The Memphis Safe Task Force was once again on the move this past Thursday, resulting in 52 arrests and the seizure of 10 illegal firearms, reports the US Marshals Service. Among those apprehended by the multi-agency initiative, which includes federal, state, local law enforcement, and even the Tennessee National Guard, were individuals involved in serious crimes such as attempted murder and felony possession.
In a significant case, according to the US Marshals Service, Jeremy D. Walls, a 36-year-old male, faced a Shelby County warrant stemming from a May 6, 2023, incident where he is accused of beating his girlfriend so severely that she suffered a concussion and multiple fractures. His capture took place in the 200 block of Poplar Avenue. Moreover, 33-year-old Stevens R. Flakes was reported to have been taken into custody for firearm possession during a felony, resisting arrest, and controlled substance possession after a routine traffic stop at the corner of E.H. Crump Boulevard and East Street.
The Memphis Safe Task Force, since its September 2025 inception, has been rigorously pursuing its mission to make the community safer by cracking down on violent crime, confiscating firearms, and locating missing children.
