Woman arrested during Memphis anti-ICE protest, accused of assaulting officers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Cordova woman was arrested during anti-ICE protests on Summer Avenue this weekend after a law enforcement officer said she assaulted and verbally attacked them, and resisted detention.

Rebecca Leathers, 55, is charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, indecent exposure, vandalism, assault, assault on a peace officer and obstructing a highway.

Leathers was arrested Sunday afternoon, as about 100 protesters walked on Summer Avenue near Graham Street. Officers from several agencies blocked part of the street.
