DESOTO COUNTY — An inmate died while in DeSoto County custody, according to a report by WMC-TV in Memphis.
The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Reccardo Deshun Walton, 42, of Memphis, was found unresponsive in his housing pod at the county’s adult detention center. Jail staff began life-saving measures and first responders transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said there were no signs of foul play, but Walton’s cause of death remains under investigation. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has been notified and is overseeing the investigation, according to the report…
