‘We got the wrong guy:’ Crash victim on confusion after THP high-speed chase

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man caught in the middle of a chase is recovering, after a Maserati fleeing from Tennessee Highway Patrol crashed into his car, leaving him hospitalized with several broken bones and police apologizing.

“Everybody wants to go home to their family,” Elvert Pratcher told WREG’s Quametra Wilborn. “I know I do.”

Instead of lying in his bed at home, 57-year-old Pratcher is confined to his hospital room and looking at a long road to recovery.

“My neck broke, and my ribs broke. My hip is damaged too,” he said. “Everything on my right side.”…
