Crews ready to ‘work around the clock’ to restore power during winter blast, MLGW says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) said it is ready “to work around the clock, if needed” during a winter storm expected to hit the region this weekend.

“We are always prepared to deal with weather-related outages,” MLGW said in a statement.

The storm is expected to start blasting through the Mid-South as early as Friday afternoon and last through the weekend. A big concern, however, is the storm’s aftermath — as meteorologists in Severe Weather Center 13 predict slick, hazardous roads to stick around well after the storm has moved on…
