Two Miss. superintendents and schoolteacher plead guilty to embezzlement conspiracy

OXFORD, Miss. (WLBT) – A Mississippi school superintendent and a schoolteacher pled guilty on a charge of conspiracy to commit embezzlement in federal court today.

Earl Joe Nelson of Biloxi, Mississippi, was the superintendent of the Clarksdale Municipal School District from July 2019 to May 2022. Nelson became the superintendent of the Leake County School District in October 2022.
