Memphis, Tennessee – A dangerous winter storm is expected to disrupt travel and daily life across the Mid-South beginning Friday evening, with heavy snow, sleet, and ice likely to create near-impossible conditions through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Sunday for portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, and West Tennessee. Snow and sleet accumulations are expected to range from three to nine inches, with ice accumulations around two-tenths of an inch.
