Teen shot to death in Southeast Memphis home: MPD

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A teen is now dead after a shooting early Thursday morning in a Southeast Memphis neighborhood, Memphis Police say.

Officers say they were called to a shooting scene in the 4900 block of Simsbury Drive around 2:40 a.m. They say a male teen between the ages of 14 and 17 was shot to death inside a home.

WREG crews spoke with a mother who was brought to tears after a teen, who she says plays with her child, was shot and killed. The woman says, as a mother, it’s too hard to process the violence that happened so close to home.

“I don’t even know, I can’t even process it right now. Because that could’ve been my child, just having out, you know, or anything,” said Nicole Bishop. “There’s two children that are that age, and they are the ones that actually walk our younger ones around.”…
