MS family faces outage after fallen power lines during winter storm

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — A Southaven family had to huddle together after losing power just three hours into the winter storm that hit Saturday morning.

The mother says they didn’t expect to lose electricity so soon.

“I saw the power line was completely down, so we don’t have any power,” said Chanel Griffin. “Were trying to huddle together, bundle up, my kids have hoodies in the house and everything.”

Griffin says she hasn’t gotten word on when electricity will be restored, but after speaking with Sheriff Thomas Tuggle with the Desoto County Sheriff’s Department, he says all departments are doing their part to resolve the disruption and keep the community safe…
