Dixie Queen Mounting Overton Crossing Comeback

A new day is dawning for an established Memphis favorite. After a difficult close to 2025 caused by a fire rendering the location unusable, Dixie Queen is getting ready to relaunch its Overton Crossing storefront.

Certain repairs have already been undertaken on the 3331 Overton Crossing Street restaurant. Owner Joe Raffanti very generously set aside some time to fill What Now Memphis in on the location’s progress, explaining that the building has been painted and gutted but he is awaiting city permits to begin the interior rebuilding.

As a positive sign of forward momentum, the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development issued Dixie Queen a commercial mechanical permit on January 14 of this year. Raffanti states that he and his team are hopeful that the buildout will take around a month once every hurdle is cleared and has assured What Now Memphis that he will let readers know as progress develops and an opening nears…
