MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Midtown woman is heartbroken after a porch pirate walked off with a box full of handmade hats for her sister, who is battling cancer.
The theft was captured on camera outside the victim’s house.
The woman, who only wanted to be identified by her first name, said a friend in Nashville knitted ten one-of-a-kind beanies for her sister, and in seconds, they were gone.
“My sister’s head stays cold, and she adores beanie caps with poms on top. I wanted to surprise her with these bright new beanies as a symbol of new beginnings for 2026,” said Stephanie. “I just wanted to get her something that was going to brighten up her day, brighten up her life.”…
