‘Too mucky:’ Memphians help drivers stuck in snow across the city

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The City of Memphis continues to treat major roadways across the city like B.B. King Boulevard and parts of Union Avenue. Crews were out Monday putting down salt and will continue to do so as needed.

Intersections like Dr. MLK Jr. Avenue and South Main Street continue to create headaches for drivers.

“It’s pretty much mucky like this, and I see that salt has turned it into sand now, pretty much. So, if you’re a car and you got rear-wheel drive, even front-wheel drive, I really wouldn’t suggest getting out here,” said Dennis Holder, a Memphian who spent Monday helping stuck drivers across the city.

Holder said he almost got rid of his truck before the storm and is thankful that he didn’t. Holder said his truck hasn’t gotten stuck in the snow once since the storm…
