Man hit, killed by train in Olive Branch, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a man was was hit and killed by a train in Olive Branch, Miss. Thursday morning.

Around 9:30 a.m., officers with the Olive Branch Police Department were flagged down in the area of Highway 178 and Old Goodman Road by a BNSF train conductor, who told police that the train had struck a pedestrian, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found an adult man, later identified as 54-year-old Michael Mayer of Olive Branch, who was identified by the train conductor as the individual involved…
