UPDATE: Student safe at dorm after being stuck on highway for hours
MARSHALL COUNTY, Miss. — A Georgia mother said that her 21-year-old daughter has been stuck on Highway 72 since Wednesday, as icy conditions continue to cause trouble on the roadways and interstates.
Ashley Lord says her daughter, Lydia, a Rhodes College student, has been stuck on Highway 72 since Wednesday evening.
“She hit Highway 72 at about 5 p.m. yesterday, the 28th, and has pretty much been dead stopped on the highway since about 5 p.m. last night,” said Lord.
According to MDOT, it sent out a traffic alert Tuesday night, and there are disabled vehicles on the highway, likely due to the icy conditions…
