MEMPHIS, Tennessee — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said 2 children are hospitalized after falling into an icy pond on Friday night.
They said the two boys, who are brothers, were walking on a frozen pond at Southwind Lakes Apartments around 8 p.m. when the ice broke. The children were in the water for at least three minutes.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to the drowning call and entered the water to rescue the children, who are 7 years old and 12 years old.
