MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis scuba diver who set a Guinness World Record for the fastest time to scuba dive on all seven continents was officially recognized by Shelby County Commissioners during their regular meeting Monday night.
Last year, Corhonda Dawson scuba dived around the world in just 11 days, 19 hours, and 23 minutes, according to Guinness World Records. She crushed the previous record of 19 days, 19 hours, and 40 minutes.

Months earlier, Dawson became the first African-American woman to dive in the waters off all the continents. That time she did it in five months.
