MEMPHIS, Tenn. — xAI is top of mind again this week in Southaven, Mississippi, as residents will get the chance to voice their concerns over the developer’s request to build 41 natural gas turbines in a residential area.
Last month, Elon Musk’s company filed a permit with the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality for 41 gas turbines at the old Duke Energy facility on Stanton Road.
Those turbines would generate enough energy to power every home in Shelby County. Energy that would be put to use powering the nearby supercomputers.
