Man arrested after gun, drugs seized at southeast Memphis home, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A man was arrested after police said they found a gun and drugs in a southeast Memphis home, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) said.

26-year-old Landrick Brooks was wanted for aggravated assault, attempted aggravated robbery, and theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000. Police located Brooks in the 3700 block of Parkline Drive while serving an active felony warrant, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Police reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana inside the home. During the arrest and execution of the search warrant, a detective and his K9 found a bag that was later discovered to have marijuana in it. They continued to search the home and recovered a large amount of money, two digital scales, assorted ammunition, more marijuana, a Draco-style gun, magazines for the gun, car keys, and 19 boxes of Promethazine…
