Pedestrian struck, killed on I-240 in Memphis, leading to interstate shutdown, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A deadly pedestrian strike on I-240 in Memphis has led to a partial shutdown of the interstate Wednesday morning, police said.

The Memphis Police Department (MPD) confirmed with FOX13 that a deadly crash investigation was underway. The call came in around 6:45 a.m.; hours later, traffic appeared to be a standstill on the interstate just before South Parkway East.

Police said all southbound lanes in the area are shut down “until further notice.”…
