Remains from 20-year-old Mississippi County cold case identified using DNA testing

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) – Advanced DNA testing funded by the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office identified human remains found nearly 20 years ago in Mississippi County.

The testing, conducted by forensic lab Othram, positively identified the remains of Little John Sutton, who was last seen in Memphis Aug. 1, 2006.

His remains were found in Mississippi County on Sept. 27, 2006, and his death was determined to be a homicide, but authorities could not positive identify the remains at that time. He was reported missing by his half sister on Oct. 30, 2006.
