MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Arkansas State Police (ASP) troopers seized hundreds of pounds of illegal drugs and arrested multiple suspects, including a wanted Memphis man, in recent traffic stops.
According to state police, the U.S. Marshals Service alerted Arkansas police on Monday after losing a vehicle during a pursuit in Memphis. Troopers later found the vehicle and man in a hotel parking lot in Marion. Police said 24-year-old Gervonte Brown of Memphis, tried to flee but was quickly apprehended.
Troopers recovered 19 pounds of marijuana and two firearms, one confirmed stolen, ASP said. Police said Brown had outstanding Tennessee warrants and was taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center on multiple felony charges.
State police also said troopers stopped a car on I-40 in Crawford County around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday for a traffic violation. Troopers searched the car and found 45 pounds of illegal marijuana sealed in the trunk…
