NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The country music singer driving the vehicle that struck and killed a 77-year-old in Germantown, Tennessee, last June no longer faces a misdemeanor charge in connection with the case.
Conner Smith, a country music singer, was facing a Class A misdemeanor — failure to yield the right of way resulting in the death of Dorothy “Dot” Dobbins. Investigators said Dobbins was crossing 3rd Avenue North near Van Buren Street while in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by the truck on June 8, 2025.
According to witnesses, Smith ran to help Dobbins until paramedics arrived. She was then taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died.
