A jealous woman discovers her ex with a new girlfriend and begins beating the other woman’s Volkswagen with a metal object before shooting at the new couple, according to police

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A Tennessee woman, Ateariny Boyd, 20, is facing serious charges after allegedly attempting to kill her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend when she discovered him with another woman.

Boyd has been charged with two counts of attempted murder in the first degree, employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and vandalism causing damage between $2,500 and $10,000, along with violating bail conditions.

The Incident on Driver Street

The incident occurred on February 18, around 6 a.m., in the South Memphis neighborhood, along Driver Street. Police responded to reports of a shooting early that morning and found both victims waiting when they arrived at the scene, according to a police report obtained by Memphis-based CBS affiliate WREG.

The female victim and her boyfriend told police that they were at the man’s house when they heard loud banging on the front door and window. The woman claimed that Boyd, who was outside, yelled at her ex-boyfriend for having another woman inside his house.

Destruction and Pursuit

After the yelling stopped, the victim heard the sound of glass breaking. The victim went outside and saw Boyd using a large metal object to hit the windshield of her Volkswagen Jetta. In addition, Boyd allegedly slashed all four tires of the car, causing significant damage…
