Man gets 25 years for 2023 car wash murder caught on camera

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Jacobie Williams was sentenced to 25 years in prison after admitting to shooting a man to death during a carjacking at a Frayser car wash in 2023.

Williams, 28, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and will be forced to service 100% of his time behind bars.

The Shelby County District Attorney said the victim was carjacked and killed while washing his car.

When officers arrived at the Super Suds Car Wash on University Street at around 8:30 p.m. on April 1, 2023, they said the victim was already dead, and his white 2014 Cadillac CTS was missing.

The shooting was captured on camera at the car wash, and eyewitnesses and a handprint linked Williams to the crime.
