MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis residents are calling on city leaders to act after a series of violent incidents at short-term rental properties across the city, including multiple shootings that left neighbors shaken.
Shootings at short-term rentals
Last December, Memphis police say a man was shot and killed at a short-term rental pajama party on Grove Dale Street in East Memphis.
In January, four people were shot at a short-term rental party at a duplex in High Point Terrace. Memphis police say the youngest victim was 14 years old.
On Valentine’s Day, police responded to another deadly shooting at a short-term rental party in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood.
