Group home resident heroically saves caregiver in crisis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Mid-South group home resident is being called a hero after staff say his quick thinking helped save a caregiver’s life during a frightening medical emergency.

A few days ago, an employee fainted while on duty at the home where Austin Johnson lives. The caregiver became unconscious and unresponsive.

Staff say Austin stayed calm and immediately sprang into action. He called his mother for help, who then alerted the home’s house manager. The manager quickly called 911, bringing emergency crews to the scene within minutes and getting the employee the medical care they needed…
