MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are searching for a suspect who they say escaped custody after being a suspect in a drug and weapons investigation.
Investigators say Xavion Summers ran from officers early Sunday morning at Regional One Health after being medically cleared for booking into the Shelby County Jail.
Police released a photo of Summers for the public to help assist police in the search. At the time he was detained, police say he was wearing a black Adidas track suit hoodie.
According to reports, officers first detained Summers around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday at the Exxon on 2675 Getwell Road. Agents with Homeland Security Investigations were at that location and saw what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the parking lot…
