North Memphis family says police raided wrong home while searching for fugitive

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A North Memphis family says a dozen armed officers stormed their home Wednesday morning while searching for a fugitive who, they say, never lived there.

Cser Dorse, a night-shift worker and father of four homeschooled children, said he had just fallen asleep after returning from work when officers began banging on the door of his home on Breedlove Street near Kney Street, located just south of Vollintine Avenue.

“So I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ They’re like, ‘Open the damn door! Open the door… open the door!’ I’m like, ‘What? What y’all doing?’ They’re like, ‘We’re looking for somebody. Somebody got a warrant… open the door!” Dorse recalled.
