Shelby County Criminal Court Clerk to begin automatic expungements March 23

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Shelby County Criminal Court Clerk will begin automatically expunging Nolle prosequi cases starting March 23, without court costs or fees.

Nolle prosequi is the legal term for when a prosecutor stops pursuing charges. To have a Nolle prosequi case removed from a record, a person must request it in court.

Free expungement clinic set for April 11

The clerk is holding a free expungement clinic April 11 at FedExForum from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free parking is available at the garage.
