22-year-old woman wins 300-mile ultramarathon at Shelby Farms

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 22-year-old runner has won one of the toughest endurance races held in Memphis.

Lila Miller finished first in the women’s category in the 300-mile race at the Viper 300 ultramarathon, a grueling multi-day event that wrapped up Saturday at Shelby Farms Park.

The race pushes athletes to their limits, covering roughly 300 miles over several days on a looped course that winds through paved paths and wooded trails inside the part. The event, held March 9 – 14, includes multiple distances but the 300-mile category is the longest and most demanding.

Miller competed in a field that included elite ultrarunners—some with decades more experience and financial sponsorships. Despite entering the race without a sponsor, she crossed the finish line first.
