Gunfire erupts outside northeast Memphis apartments, striking woman inside bedroom, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Gunshots rang outside northeast Memphis apartments Friday night, striking a woman inside her bedroom and seriously injuring her, police said.

Memphis police said it all started just before 8:30 p.m., when officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on Quailbrook Drive off Macon and Whitten roads. There, they found a woman lying on her side outside a unit, police said.

The woman told police that she was in her room playing a computer game when she was struck by gunfire. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition, MPD said…
