A late-night drive near Shelby Farms turned deadly when a driver hit a man at an East Memphis intersection, then took off into the dark. The collision happened in the early hours of March 16 at Sycamore View Road and Shelby Oaks Drive. Officers responding around 2 a.m. found the pedestrian critically injured; he was later pronounced dead. The driver did not stay at the scene and remains at large.

According to police, the car was last seen heading northbound on Sycamore View Road.
The case drew wider attention this week when local TV outlet Action News 5 amplified the department’s alert and urged viewers to speak up. As Action News 5 reports, investigators say no arrests have been made.
