Morgan Steel Pours $11.7 Million Into HQ, 119 Jobs On Deck

Morgan Steel is doubling down on its hometown. The Memphis-based steel distributor and fabricator is pumping $11.7 million into an expansion of its Riverside Boulevard headquarters, a move expected to bring 119 new jobs to Shelby County and boost the company’s processing and fabrication capacity for local manufacturers and suppliers.

The project centers on new production equipment and facility upgrades at the Memphis campus. Company officials told local reporters the expansion will add 119 positions at the site and push Morgan Steel’s total headcount to more than 400 employees across its operations in Memphis and Greenville, Texas, according to LocalMemphis. Founded in Memphis in 2014, Morgan Steel has grown from a small service center into a multi-site metal distributor and fabricator with in-house processing and its own trucking fleet. The company’s website highlights recent investments in lasers, press brakes and a powder-coating partner that broaden its ability to ship finished parts instead of just raw material.
