MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) trooper was injured following a foot chase with a driver who allegedly refused to obey a traffic stop and caused a 10-vehicle crash on Interstate 240 Wednesday night.
The driver has been identified as 29-year-old Calvin Crutcher Jr. He has been charged with 30 charges, including the following.
- 10 counts of reckless endangerment
- two counts of assault on a first responder
- resisting official detention
- driving under the influence/intoxicated, drugs
- reckless driving
- speeding
- alt/fals/forg auto title/plates
- violation of financial law
- move unregistered vehicle on the highway
- failure to report a vehicular accident
- tampering with/fabricating evidence
- leaving the scene of the accident involving injury
- driving while license sus/rev/con
- passing in a no-passing zone
- unlawful removal of regis/decal/plate
- improper lane changing
- criminal littering
- possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell
- intentionally evading arrest in a car
- evading arrest
THP says Crutcher was traveling east on I-240 when one of its troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
