MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man accused of intentionally hitting a couple with his vehicle outside a Hickory Hill restaurant is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder.
William Bass, 39, is also charged with two counts of assault and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
According to an affidavit of complaint, the incident happened on March 19 at the Crazy Mexican Sports Bar on Winchester and began with a fight inside the restaurant.
Police said when Bass struck the couple with his Dodge Durango, the impact knocked the woman to the ground and hurled the man into the air, causing him to land on the hood of another vehicle.
