MEMPHIS, Tenn — An Orange Mound neighborhood is on edge after a 7-year-old boy was struck by gunfire while sitting inside his own home early Friday morning, according to Memphis Police.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired around 1:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Douglass Avenue. When police arrived, they found the child suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said he was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to non-critical.
Investigators said the boy was sitting in his living room when multiple shots were fired into the area. People inside the home told police they were playing a game when they heard gunfire and ducked for cover. No one reported seeing the shooter…
